Now, some of you might be wondering how these things come together, but in the first hour of Check Ça for April 11 (2014) we try to answer that question. Going from the ever funky and creative Bobbi Humprhey, to the fabulous flute-boxing flautist Greg Patillo of Project Trio, to the silken jazz stylings of Hubert Laws, to Canada's own Jef Kearns 'Soulfisticated' flute with hip hop beats underneath: the flute is an instrument not to be trifled with. Not to mention a quick trip into the artistic playground of musical visionary Yusef Lateef with 'Eboness'. And this is just the tip of the iceberg - there are many others out there waiting to be discovered...
